The Benefits of CBD Oils in the UK

adminJuly 17, 2023July 17, 2023

CBD is a cannabinoid that interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). It doesn’t have the psychoactive ingredient found in cannabis called tetrahydrocannabinol, which gets you high.

CBD oil is a tincture of hemp extract in a carrier oil and is the most common way to take CBD. This is a great option for first-time users and those with busy lifestyles.
What is CBD Oil?

CBD oil is a type of cannabis extract that contains high levels of the cannabinoid CBD and low to no THC. It can come from either hemp or cannabis (marijuana) plants and can vary in concentration of other cannabinoids and plant compounds.

It’s a non-psychoactive compound that may relieve anxiety, reduce pain and seizures, and promote sleep. It’s most often prescribed for childhood epilepsy that doesn’t respond to other medications. It’s also used to treat a number of other conditions, including arthritis, muscle spasms, depression and anxiety, and PTSD.

CBD interacts with several medicines, including benzodiazepine sedatives like Klonopin (clonazepam), Ativan and Valium (diazepam). It also can increase the level of antidepressants in the body such as Paxil and Celexa. It also affects a liver enzyme called CYP450, which breaks down other drugs. This can cause the drugs to have a stronger effect or make them less effective. It can also increase the drowsiness caused by some medications such as antihistamines and muscle relaxants.
What are the Benefits of CBD Oil?

CBD has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety disorders, including social anxiety. It may also help ease pain from arthritis and other conditions. However, most of the evidence is based on small studies and doesn’t look at long-term effects.

CBD may interact with some medications, including antidepressants. It can decrease the level of serotonin in your brain. It also may increase levels of certain antidepressants, such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) like sertraline (Zoloft) and tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline (Elavil).

CBD can cause drowsiness, so it might not be safe to drive when taking it. It may also affect the liver enzyme CYP450, which breaks down some medications. This could make the drugs less effective or may cause them to have more side effects. It’s best to avoid combining CBD with these medications unless your doctor advises it.
Are CBD Oils Legal in the UK?

CBD oils are a convenient way to regularly consume CBD and are often sold with a variety of different flavours and strengths. They are one of the most popular ways to take CBD in the UK and can be purchased from online retailers and pharmacies.

It is important to choose high-quality CBD products that are sourced from ethical producers and have been independently tested. A recent study found that some of the more poorly-made CBD oil products could contain significant amounts of toxins such as eugenol and hexane.

As the demand for CBD continues to rise, many more products are entering the market. This has given consumers a huge range of options and improved the chances of finding one that suits their individual needs.

However, it is important to remember that CBD supplements are not medicines and can interact with certain medications. It is therefore advisable to speak to your GP before taking CBD if you are already taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines.
Are CBD Oils Safe to Use?

CBD oil is the most well-known form of CBD available and is typically a mixture of CBD-rich hemp extract and a carrier oil. It’s usually taken by dropping a few drops under the tongue and the benefits can be felt in about 30 minutes.

Most large health food stores stock ‘pure’ CBD oils, however these aren’t regulated as they can contain different amounts of the active ingredients listed on the label and could contain harmful additives. This is the reason why you’re best off choosing a reputable supplier like us who have a clear and transparent approach to their product testing and are open with their lab reports.

It’s worth mentioning that while CBD has been shown to help with a number of conditions, the research is fairly limited and more needs to be done to confirm this. It may also interact with certain medications (particularly those metabolised by P450 enzymes), so always check with your GP before taking CBD if you’re on any other medication.CBD Oils UK
