Fenbendazole is a dewormer that has shown promise in the treatment of cancer. It works by blocking cancer cells from metabolizing glucose, allowing them to starve. It can also work in synergy with berberine.
At our institution, the anthelmintic fenbendazole inhibited growth of an established human lymphoma xenograft in SCID mice. We analyzed whether fenbendazole alone or in combination with supplemental vitamins suppressed tumor growth.
Product Description
Fenbendazole (Panacur C) is a powdered dewormer used to treat and control intestinal worms in dogs. Specifically, it treats and controls roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina), hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala), whipworms (Trichuris vulpis) and tapeworms (Taenia pisiformis). Fenbendazole is known to be safe for dogs and humans when used as directed. It also has shown promising results in the treatment of cancer. A recent success story of a man with stage 4 small cell lung cancer using this protocol has gained significant attention. Read more about it here. The dry, tasteless powder can be mixed with a beverage or food.
Dosage
Fenbendazole destroys microtubules in cancer cells and halts their ability to take up glucose, starving the cells. It also boosts the production of p53, a gene that keeps cancer cells from multiplying. This dewormer can be used alone or in conjunction with other supplements to help fight cancer.
Complete blood counts of the mice on the control diet and the fenbendazole plus vitamin diet at study termination showed that initial white cell responses did not differ between groups. However, at study termination the fenbendazole plus vitamins group had significantly lower total white cell and neutrophil counts than the controls, indicating that a significant antitumor effect was caused by the combination of fenbendazole and supplemental vitamins.
The fenbendazole cancer protocol has been gaining popularity in the last year because of some remarkable cancer success stories. The key ingredient in this dewormer is berberine, which can work in tandem with fenbendazole to strengthen the immune system and starve cancer cells of their nutrients.
Side Effects
Fenbendazole at regular doses usually does not cause side effects in pets. However, at high doses fenbendazole can cause an allergic reaction in certain pets that may include facial swelling, itchiness, hives, and diarrhea. If your pet experiences any of these symptoms, seek veterinary care immediately.
Developed to deworm animals, this medication has shown additional benefits in animal studies including tumor inhibition. It works by blocking the ability of worms to take up glucose, starving them. It can also prevent the multiplication of worms by killing immature forms of the worm.
This dewormer is available in granule, chew, and liquid form. It is typically given to dogs by mouth and mixed into their food to reduce gastrointestinal upset. It can be used in addition to monthly heartworm prevention products. Consult your veterinarian for a deworming schedule that is best for your pet. This product is not FDA approved for use in cats or kittens, but many veterinarians prescribe it off label (extra-label) in these species.sanare lab fenbendazole
