Garment finishing services are what bring your decorated garment to retail standards and gives your brand a professional look. This could include hang tags, woven neck and hem labels as well as poly bagging.
Fabric finishing factories are major polluters. Untreated toxic wastewater from the textile industry is poured directly into rivers and heavily contaminates runoff and evaporation waters.
Woven Neck Labels
Woven neck labels add a touch of luxury to any garment and are an excellent choice for your brand identity. They offer a soft feel to them and are highly durable, they will not fray after washing like most printed labels do.
Woven labels can be used to rebrand your apparel or to display important information like the sizing or wash instructions of your product. Typically, woven labels are inserted into the neck of your garments or into the bottom hem seam.
A woven label will have a sewing groove incorporated in it so the sewn on contractor has a guide to follow when stitching the label down. This will ensure the woven label is sewn in correctly and does not come loose after washing.
Damask woven labels are the best quality for displaying fine text and images as it is a very tight weave and will show excellent detail. Satin woven labels are similar but do not have the same fine detail but are very smooth and are ideal for bolder imagery and text.
Hem Tags
Hem tags are the newest trend in apparel labeling, and they’re becoming increasingly popular for many reasons. They’re a great way to add branding to your clothes without adding any bulk, and they also prevent any irritation for people with skin sensitivities that might be caused by traditional neck labels or seams.
Often only a simple logo is needed, and they can be sewn onto the bottom hem or sleeve of any garment. They can be made out of any fabric type, and a variety of finishes are available, including satin and woven damask.
These are great for giving your products a retail quality look that elevates them above the rest, and they can be easily rolled up and size-stickered for easy use in crowded merch booths at concerts or events. Like woven neck labels, they help your brand stand out from the crowd and add a sense of luxury to your product. Cut and sew is another service that can be used for hemming your custom hem labels, as it doesn’t require any existing seams to be unpicked prior to the label being stitched into place.
Printed Neck Labels
Printed neck labels (also known as tag less labels) are fast becoming the preferred choice for many brands. Using a screen printing method these are applied over the existing woven neck label on your garments, they can also be used on hem tags and sleeves to fully brand your products.
Usually required by law, these neck labels need to display specific information including the identity of the manufacturer, care instructions and other essential details. Some countries have different requirements so check the regulations before implementing this service on your shirts.
Typically these can be screen printed on a mesh count of 230 or higher using plastisol ink. It is recommended to use a light or cool grey shade so it blends in well and doesn’t scratch on your customer’s neck. The label can be matched to the shirt color or a contrast can be added for better visibility. You can add these to your product in the Product Hub by selecting one of the apparel models that currently support them.

Tagless label printing, also known as sew free or iron on labels, is a process that uses heat to apply a transfer with care instructions onto a garment. This method is more cost effective than sewing in the label, and it can be applied quickly and easily with either a manual or an electric heat press. Using a heat transfer instead of a traditional sewn-in label can also give your clothing a much more premium look without sacrificing comfort or durability. Tagless labels are available with text, care instruction icons or a company logo.apparel finishing services
